PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet printer capable of easily confirming whether or not printing positions on the surface and rear surface are matched with each other in a both-sided printing. SOLUTION: The inkjet printer includes: a carriage 30 that has a printer head 50 disposed opposite a main platen 72 and used for printing by emitting ink onto a recording medium M, and that prints on the recording medium M by emitting ink while relatively moving the printer head 50 against a printing medium M placed on the platen; a carriage moving mechanism; and a medium moving mechanism that delivers the printing medium M from the platen according to printing. The printer includes a printing medium illuminating means 100 which is disposed on the delivery side where the printing medium M is delivered from a position opposite the underside of the printer head 50 and by which the printing medium M subjected to the emission of the ink thereto by the printer head 50 and delivered by the media moving mechanism is illuminated from the opposite side of the face subjected to the emission of the ink.
