<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid developer which is highly dependent on thermophysical property of a resin and which excels in low temperature fixing property, and to provide an image forming apparatus using the liquid developer. Ž<P>SOLUTION: As a rosin resin 3 can change its molecular structure according to surrounding conditions, it is possible to effectively introduce esters in resin molecules. The esters in carrier solution 10 penetrate in the resin molecules in a toner particle 1. The esters penetrating in the molecules expand a distance between the molecules of the resin and can reduce energy required for changing a state of the resin from a solid state to a liquid state.
