<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gripping device easily determining the abrasion of a tube. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The gripping device includes a cylindrical tube 10 with both ends opened, and a rod-like or cylindrical body, wherein one end open end part of the tube 10 is airtightly connected to the one end side of the peripheral surface of the body, the other end open end part of the tube 10 is airtightly connected to the other end side of the peripheral surface of the body, and thereby a supply/discharge space is formed between the peripheral surface of the body and the tube 10. The gripping device grips a workpiece by supplying fluid into the supply/discharge space to extend the tube 10, and bringing the peripheral surface of the tube 10 into contact with the peripheral surface of the workpiece, and also releases the workpiece by discharging the fluid in the supply/discharge space to detach the peripheral surface of the tube 10 from the peripheral surface of the workpiece. In the gripping device, the tube 10 includes a cover rubber 20 forming the surface, and an abrasion determination layer provided on the inner surface of the cover rubber 20, and the cover rubber and the abrasion determination layer are formed in different colors.
