PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cross flow fan that reduces front edge exfoliation on an air suction side and rear edge exfoliation on an air blow out side by providing a recessed groove part extending in a direction orthogonal to airflow on a negative pressure face portion on an outer peripheral edge side of a blade of an impeller, and that does not require undercutting of a blade part so that it can be easily manufactured. SOLUTION: In the cross flow fan having a plurality of blades disposed in the circumferential direction at a prescribed blade angle to be parallel with a rotary shaft on an outer peripheral part of a plurality of circular supporting plates disposed in parallel to the rotary shaft direction at prescribed intervals, the recessed groove is provided extending in the direction orthogonal to the airflow on the negative pressure face side of the blade outer peripheral edge part. According to this structure, a secondary flow is generated in the recessed groove part extending in the direction orthogonal to the airflow formed on the negative pressure face side of the blade outer peripheral edge, and thereby, the flow velocity at a wall face is locally recovered, development of a boundary layer can be suppressed, and the degree of exfoliation of flow is reduced.
