摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the chipping or the defect of an outer peripheral edge, to reduce cutting resistance, and to prevent the generation of chatter vibration caused by an impact load during chamfering by the outer peripheral edge. SOLUTION: In a roughening end mill, at an outer periphery of an end of an end mill body which rotates around an axis, a chip discharge groove is formed which is twisted rearward in the rotating direction of the end mill from an end to a rear end side of the end mill body. A wall surface of the chip discharge groove directed toward the rotating direction of the end mill is formed as a rake surface, and at an edge of an outer peripheral side thereof, the outer peripheral edge is formed which is twisted in the twisting direction of the chip discharge groove, and corrugated and irregular in the rotating direction of the end mill. A rake angle α of the outer peripheral edge is changed so as to be largest at a position where an angle of the torsion θ of the outer peripheral edge is maximum and minimum at a position where the angle of torsion θ of the outer peripheral edge is smallest.
