When configuring a ladder program edition device for editing a ladder diagram, an edition control unit creates a logical formula data corresponding to a logical structure of an input condition and an output condition in the ladder diagram according to arrangement of circuit elements in the ladder diagram; sets each of the circuit elements defining the input condition for each of the input conditions in the circuit unit of one input and one output according to the data in the logical formula; and connects output terminals of the circuit units to be connected in parallel in the ladder diagram using a connection line. This prevents creation of a ladder diagram having a syntactic error.
