PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for blocking harmful image play are provided to control the play of an image by confirming a blood pulse and age of a viewer in a state that a color tone of a played image is a certain level. CONSTITUTION: An image player(10) plays an image, and an image play controller(12) controls the play of the image by confirming the blood pulse and an age of a viewer if the color tone set in the played image is a certain level. A viewer database(22) comprises a log table including an image play log of the viewer and a personal information table including the personal information of the viewer.
