<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deterioration of performance of a hermetic electric compressor by reducing an influence of distortion of a motor stator core to be generated when fitting the motor stator of the hermetic electric compressor to a pressure container. Ž<P>SOLUTION: After inserting the motor stator 1 into a barrel shell 6, a part of the periphery of the motor stator 1 is projected into a through groove 14 provided in the barrel shell 6, and the projecting part 16 is fixed to the through groove 14 of the barrel shell 6 by welding 13, and distortion of a body of the motor stator core 1 is restricted to the minimum to restrict a loss of the motor.
