<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing an aluminum member used for a heat exchanger for a refrigerator, an air conditioner, a heat pump or the like and having excellent water repellent property, frost formation resistance, and a fan using the same. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the method of manufacturing the aluminum member having excellent water repellent property and frost formation resistance, a rugged structure is formed on the aluminum member by dipping in an acid while directly bringing a metal having smaller ionization tendency than that of aluminum into direct contact with the aluminum member and next, a water repellent coating film is applied on the aluminum member.
