<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feeder simply formed and easily adaptable to the feeding of paper with small widths. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A manual paper-feed tray 28 includes a pair of a laterally aligning members 14, 15 for aligning the widths of paper loaded on a paper loading plate 10. The laterally aligning member 15 includes a horizontal slide section 16 and a vertical guide section 17 which are separated from each other. The slide section 16 is movable in the paper width direction along a groove 12 formed in the upper surface of the paper loading plate 10. The guide section 17 is disposed on the upper surface 16a of the slide section 16. The guide section 17 can move the upper surface 16a of the slide section 16 in the paper width direction.
