PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber cable in which a side-thrust characteristic is improved by shaping a cable sheath itself of the optical fiber cable to be hard to receive a side-thrust. SOLUTION: The cable sheath is formed such that both ends and a barrel part in-between are integrated in a straight line in the longitudinal direction of a fiber unit, with the barrel part shaped recessed relative to both ends. A distance between the outermost faces at both ends in the straight line is formed longer compared with a distance between the outer faces of the barrel part orthogonal to the straight line. When the outward outer faces of one or both ends are projected outward, with the lateral outer faces projected to the side, and when the optical fiber cable is made to stand up vertically in a straight line around the part projected outward, with an external force imparted thereto, the optical fiber cable is configured to rotate and fall down sideways, with the projected part of the lateral outer face brought into contact with a fixed material placed sideways and made stationary.
