A containment (1 ) for bottles (20), vials or the like with toxic, cyto-toxic contents or the like comprises a container (2) having an open end (4) for receiving a bottle, vial or the like and a closure cap (5) for tightly closing the container (2). The containment further comprises a separate retaining insert (8), which can be securely attached to the container (2) in the vicinity of the open end (4) thereof and which has a central opening (10) for a neck portion (21 ) of the bottle (20), vial and the like.
