<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broadcast receiving device capable of setting an area according to user's intention as a viewing area while facilitating setting a viewing area of channel scanning processing. <P>SOLUTION: In the broadcast receiving device 100, a detection means (detecting program 136b) detects whether each of channels should be received in digital television broadcast at a predetermined timing, a decision means (deciding program 136c) decides at least an area where a channel of a local broadcast station can be received as a candidate of the viewing area based on results of detection by the detection means, a selection means (selecting program 136d) causes a display section to display the areas selected as the candidate of the viewing area by the decision means, and causes a user to select a certain area from the areas, and a setting means (setting program 136e) sets the certain area selected with the selection means by the user as a viewing area. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
