PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To specify a reference image using a captured image. SOLUTION: An image processor 1 prints an optional shape image with watermark data embedded by means of an optional shape wavelet transform. The printed matter is imaged by a user's camera to generate captured image data. The image processor 1 stores template image data obtained by imaging the optional shape image from various angles; and calculates degree of correlation with each of template image data after correcting parallel displacement (Δx,Δy), scaleσ, and rotational angleϕof the optional shape image in the captured image data. When the degree of correlation exceeds a predetermined threshold valueα, the image processor 1 determines that the optional shape image is included in the captured image, and specifies the region of the optional shape image to read the watermark data from the region.
