<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuous-body transfer detecting mechanism that has a simple configuration as a whole, can be inexpensively manufactured, and does not obstruct transfer of a continuous body and its processing, and a continuous-body processing device including the same. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The continuous-body transfer detecting mechanism is a transfer detecting mechanism 5 for a continuous body T to be transferred. The mechanism includes a detecting means 14 that detects a normal or abnormal transfer state of the continuous body T by the magnitude of a distance to the continuous body T, and also, detects the presence or the absence of transfer of the continuous body T by the presence or the absence of the detection of the continuous body T.
