PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable router which operates a housing smoothly and can remove a cutting blade appropriately. SOLUTION: The portable router 1 has a base part 2 mounted on a workpiece, a column 3 extended from the base part 2 to the side of an anti-workpiece, the housing 4 which is attached to the column 3 and approaches/is separated from the workpiece along the column 3, and a motor 5 which is set in the housing 4, is extended toward the workpiece in parallel with the column 3, and has a rotary shaft part 5A fitted with the cutting blade 7. A fan 5B which rotates coaxially and integrally with the rotary shaft part 5A is attached to the base end of the rotary shaft part 5A. In the housing 4, a fan chamber 6a in which the fan 5B is held is formed, and a fan wind discharge mechanism which leads a fan wind generated by the fan 5B from the fan chamber 6a to the column 3 is installed.
