<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing apparatus and a power supply control method for limiting a port for connecting an external device to the system corresponding to a power capacity suppliable from the system body of the information processing apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The information processing apparatus (100) relating to one embodiment includes: a plurality of interface ports (215-218) to which power is supplied from the information processing apparatus and the external devices (208, 209, 211 and 212) are connected; device detection means (226-229) for detecting that the external devices are connected to the interface ports; and a power control means (225) for controlling whether or not to supply the power to the external devices connected to the interface ports detected by the device detection means on the basis of the power allowable value of the information processing apparatus, the total power amount of the external devices in use and the power capacity of the external devices connected to the interface ports. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
