<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that it is desired that a medicine administered for controlling a blood uric acid value as a hyperuricemia-treating agent satisfies a mild action, the sustainability of the action, reduced side effects, and the like, while the patients of hyperuricemia are liable to increase year after year, and gout, gouty arthritis, renal lesions, and the like develop, when blood uric acid value exceeds the upper limit, 7 mg/dL, of the normal value. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This agent for preventing or improving hyperuricemia contains lycopene as an active ingredient. The lycopene is especially contained in full ripened tomato in a large amount.
