PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operability and appearance while adopting a locking device of high strength. SOLUTION: The locking device 5 used for a door 9B changed into a closed door state and an open door state and normally biased in an opening direction, has a locking member 2 engaged with and detached from a receiving part 55a in the closed door state. The locking device 5 includes a case 1 slidably supporting a holder 2 disposed at the door; a latch 3 pivotally supported to the holder upper side so that it can fall against biasing force; a regulating plate 35 slidably disposed at the holder 2 so that it can contact and separate from the latch 3; a biasing means for biasing the latch 3 in a direction to engage a receiving part 8d through the regulating plate 35 and the holder 2; and cam mechanisms (39, P) set to an operation history of controlling sliding of the regulating plate 35 to push the door in the closing direction from an open state against the urging force to thereby hold the latch 3 engaged with the receiving part 8d in the fall regulated state, and pushing the door again in the opening direction to separate the regulating plate 35 from the latch 3 to thereby release the engagement of the latch.
