摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling device for an internal combustion engine capable of controlling a flow of cooling water under a required condition in warm-up, excellent in the temperature raising efficiency in a start, simplified over the whole of the device, reduced in the number of parts items, and enabled to be miniaturized for compaction. SOLUTION: A valve unit 10 having a pressure-difference valve 11 to be operated in response to the pressure of cooling water in an engine outlet is provided on the way of a circulating flow passage 4 between a cooling water outlet of the engine 1 and an inlet of a radiator 3. The valve unit is structured to normally communicate the cooling water divided from the circulating flow passage to a thermostat 15 provided on an engine inlet side through a branch passage 13, in which a heater core 12 is interposed. The valve unit is structured so that the pressure difference valve is operated when the pressure of the cooling water on the engine outlet side becomes a predetermined pressure to make the cooling water flow to the thermostat through a bypass 16 bypassing a heater for relief.
