PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop an innovative conical type mixing treatment apparatus and a method of operating the apparatus which can efficiently carry out treatment such as mixing, crushing, drying, cooling, and disinfecting treatments by promoting fluidization of an object to be treated in a position between the lower end part of a rotary blade in a treatment tank and a cover. SOLUTION: A discharge device 3 is attached to a lower part of a treatment tank 2 for opening or closing a discharge port 23 formed in the bottom part of the treatment tank 2, a bottom part partitioning plate 31 for partitioning the discharge side in the treatment tank 2 is installed in the discharge device 3, an aperture part 32 is formed in the bottom part partitioning plate 31, a cover 33 for closing the aperture part 32 is installed, and the cover 33 is equipped with a stirring gas supply mechanism 5. An object to be treated W positioned between the lower end part of a rotary blade 27 and the cover 33 is made to fluidize by supplying a stirring gas A to the treatment tank 2 from the stirring gas supply mechanism 5 to efficiently carry out treatment such as mixing, crushing, drying, cooling, and disinfecting treatments.
