<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily adapt to changes in signal intensity and noise level. <P>SOLUTION: An electrode adjustment system is provided with a plurality of electrodes 11A, 11B, 12A, and 12B of multilayer constitution, and a determination circuit 15 determines the signal intensity and noise level and feeds determination results thereof back to a selecting circuit 13, which selects an electrode by which suitable signal intensity and noise level can be obtained.
