<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make possible the best control of power generation without increasing the size, reducing the reliability, increasing a cost of a device, etc. <P>SOLUTION: A power generation controller is equipped with an amount of power generation suppression determination unit that determines whether or not an amount of power generation of a rotating electrical machine for a vehicle should be suppressed on the basis of a current command value of power generation voltage generated from a power generation voltage command unit and a previous command value of power generation voltage stored in a power generation voltage command storage unit, and is so configured as to determine whether or not an amount of power generation suppression control is necessary on the basis of either the "previous value" or "current value" of power generation voltage command.
