<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for stably carrying a sheet when the sheet exists in a tray, by floating a rotary body from the tray, when the sheet runs out of the tray. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A sheet carrying device 16 includes a paper feeding tray 20, a first arm 70 rotatable in the direction for contacting-separating to the paper feeding tray 20, paper feeding rollers 57 and 58 rotatably supported by the first arm 70, a second arm 80 extended from the first arm 70 and rotatable in the direction for contacting-separating to the paper feeding tray 20, a coil spring 84 for energizing a second arm 80 in the rotational direction for approaching a bottom surface 25 of the paper feeding tray 20, auxiliary rollers 81 and 82 rotatably supported by the second arm 80, and a recessed part 83 arranged on the bottom surface 25 of the paper feeding tray 20. The second arm 80 maintains the auxiliary rollers 81 and 82 in a floating state in the recessed part 83 in a first rotary attitude, and separates the paper feeding rollers 57 and 58 from the bottom surface 25 of the paper feeding tray 20.
