PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lamp unit capable of protecting a light source after installation on a wall surface in a vehicle, and capable of improving light source protective performance in transport. SOLUTION: This lamp unit 5 has a light source driving part 11 installed in a design member 6 arranged in the ceiling 3 in the vehicle, and the light source 18 continuously connected to the light source driving part 11 so as to illuminate the inside of the vehicle. The lamp unit 5 has a light source protective member 20 having a cover body 36 formed so as to cover the periphery of the light source 18 and continuously connected to the light source driving part 11, and wall parts 21 and 25 arranged in the cover body 36 for opening so that the light source 18 is exposed toward the inside of the vehicle when the light source driving part 11 is installed in the design member 6.
