<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To continue printing even without stopping the print operation and re-creation bitmap data arranged in a printing direction by data conversion from printing data, when the arranging order of the created bitmap data does not agree with an assumed printing direction for paper to be fed, in an image forming apparatus. Ž<P>SOLUTION: When a trouble such as paper-out, paper jam, etc. occurs during printing by the image forming apparatus, recovery from the trouble is attempted and then printing is performed again.
