<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a speaker system that is made thin while securing sound quality characteristics, and also to provide a television receiver with the same. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The speaker system is provided with: a front cover 2; and a speaker 8 fixed to the front cover 2, the speaker 8 is provided with: a magnet 9 installed on its back side; and a back cover 3 paired with the front cover 2 to form a speaker box to store the speaker 8, and the back cover 3 is provided with an opening into which the magnet 9 is inserted having a gap 12, and a rear end of the magnet 9 is located so as to form the same plane as the back cover 3 or protrudes out of the opening.
