<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a two-component developer which, even after printing on a large number of sheets (e.g., 1,500,000 sheets), can maintain charge amount to be stable and can continuously give properly printed images free from fogging and suppress the problem, in halftone images, by preventing fine powder and the external additive of toner from depositing on a carrier surface to contaminate the carrier surface, while suppressing wearing of a coating layer of the carrier. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The two-component developer comprises at least a toner and a carrier, wherein the toner has at least silica particles and titania particles added externally, and the carrier has an acrylic resin coating layer on a core material particle surface; and the acrylic resin coating layer contains 5-50 mass% of core-shell type resin particles having a number average primary particle diameter of 100-1,000 nm, the core parts of the core-shell type resin particles are a crosslinked silicone resin, and the shell layers are of acrylic resin.
