发明名称 ELECTROLYSIS USING CYLINDRICAL ELECTRODE OF CARBON FIBER
摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrolyzing method which uses as both electrodes having large surface areas, cylindrical electrodes of carbon fiber arranged in parallel and which exhibits high electrolytic efficiency. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A flexible carbon fiber (CF) is spirally wound into cylindrical shape or sheet like carbon fiber is made cylindrical (they are called as a CF pipe), a carbon rod is inserted into the CP pipe 15 in such a manner that the surface of the inner side of the CF pipe is parallel to the surface of the carbon rod, and the CF pipe is used as an anode and the carbon round rod is used as a cathode in an electrolytic bath. With such constitution, an electrolytic apparatus is obtained which has larger surface area of the electrodes opposed to each other than the surface area of an electrolytic apparatus in which planar electrodes are dipped in parallel in the electrolytic bath having the same volume. The electrolysis is carried out in the apparatus. The quantity of Fe or Pt to be used is saved compared to the use of Fe round rod or Pt round rod by using a Fe pipe 16 or Pt (platinum) pipe in place of the carbon rod of the cathode.
