<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems that the timing of performing the abandoning work of abandoning sludge comprising a paint component precipitated in a recovery pond is extremely difficult and a putrefactive odor is generated from the accumulated sludge, or the like. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A paint mist recovery device of a painting booth includes an air conditioner, a painting chamber, a paint mist collecting part, a water collecting part, and a drain communicated from the water collecting part to a wastewater treatment facility. The paint mist collecting part has many eliminator tubes which are provided on a tube wall with many small holes of a such a size that a water screen by droplets can be formed on the outer surface by an in-tube water pressure by supplied water and are closed at one end part of the tubes. The paint mist is brought into contact with the water screen formed on the outer surface of the eliminator tubes and collected by blowing a gas containing the paint mist to many eliminator tubes, dropped from the outer surface of the eliminator tubes, gathered in the water collecting part and discharged from the water collecting part through the drain to the wastewater treatment facility.
