<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structurally-simple braking device capable of being easily maintained. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This braking device includes: two-way clutch TC which can rotatably support a sash roller 41 and which can switch its own torque transmission rotation direction depending on a position of a lever 37; a coil spring 43 of a braking-force application member which is provided between the two-way clutch and the sash roller so as to apply the braking force to the relative rotation of the two-way clutch and the sash roller; a closing-end dog member 23 which is provided in a door opening, and which is engaged with the lever near the closing end when the sash roller travels toward the closing end, so as to switch the rotation direction of the two-way clutch of the time into the torque-transmission rotation direction; and an opening-end dog member 24 which is engaged with the lever end when the sash roller travels toward the opening end, so as to switch the rotation direction of the two-way clutch of the time into the torque-transmission rotation direction.
