<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display system, a display device and an image transmission device that can prevent, especially, a still picture including characters from deteriorating in picture quality while improving the picture quality of a moving picture. <P>SOLUTION: When a kind signal is not received through a CEC line 42, a second control unit 21 determines that a video signal received through an HDMI line 41 includes TV image data, and connects a switch unit 28 to the side of an image processing unit 24. In this case, the TV image data is subjected to outline emphasis processing and then a TV image is displayed at a display unit 20. When a kind signal is received, on the other hand, the second control unit 21 determines that the received video signal includes EPG data, and connects the switch unit 28 to the side of the signal processing unit 22. In this case, the EPG data is not subjected to the outline emphasis processing and an EPG is displayed at the display unit 20.
