<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a lithium tantalate crystal which has electrical conductivity of 1×10<SP>-13</SP>to 9.99×10<SP>-12</SP>Ω<SP>-1</SP>×cm<SP>-1</SP>and in which the pyroelectric property is suppressed; and to provide the lithium tantalate crystal. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for producing a lithium tantalate crystal by heat treating a lithium tantalate crystal base material together with a reducing agent in a reducing atmosphere, the electrical conductivity of the lithium tantalate crystal after heat treatment is controlled to be within the range of from 1×10<SP>-13</SP>to 9.99×10<SP>-12</SP>Ω<SP>-1</SP>×cm<SP>-1</SP>by preparing the lithium tantalate crystal base material and the reducing agent (in Figs.A, C), then immersing the base material into a solution containing a metal halide (in Fig.B), and after superposing the reducing agent and the lithium tantalate crystal base material, heat treating the reducing agent and the base material at a temperature equal to or lower than Curie temperature (in Fig.D). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
