PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an infrared sensor capable of reducing a harmful effect of heat on an infrared sensor element during manufacture, and reducing a noise caused by heat from an external atmosphere by a simpler constitution. SOLUTION: This infrared sensor 20 includes: a ceramic package 1 on which a recessed part is formed; the infrared sensor element 2 mounted on the inner bottom surface side of the recessed part of the ceramic package 1; a lid 3 provided with an opening part 3a for allowing an infrared ray to enter the infrared sensor element 2, and bonded so as to cover the recessed part of the ceramic package 1; and an infrared transmission cap 4 bonded so as to cover the opening part 3a of the lid 3. The infrared sensor 20 also includes projections 5a, 5a for blocking heat conduction from the ceramic package 1 to the infrared sensor element 2 from the inner bottom surface side of the ceramic package 1.
