<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic analyzer using a disc, wherein samples having different preprocessing times or different measurement times and requested at random are processed with a high throughput. Ž<P>SOLUTION: When samples are analyzed using a disc having a plurality of sample positions on the circumference thereof, adjustment rotation, origin return rotation, and measurement rotation are carried out. The adjustment rotation is an operation for arranging a desired sample position at a specific position, in order to introduce a sample to the disc or to discard the sample. The origin return rotation is an operation for arranging the origin of the disc at a specific position.
