PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protective block for ground protection which can facilitate mounting work of a connector, while the protective blocks can be efficiently laid. SOLUTION: The protective block 2 is a disk-shaped block laid on the ground, such as a slope, to protect the ground. The protective block 2 includes a block body 3, and a portion 4 to be connected for connecting a block body 3 of another protective block 2 adjacent to the block body 3 with a connector 5. The portion 4 to be connected has two horizontally-extending portions 4a, 4a disposed side by side and projecting from the side 3a of the block body 3, two vertically-extending portions 4b, 4b bent from the horizontally-extending portions 4a, 4a extending upward, and a joint portion 4c for joining the upper ends of the vertically-extending portions 4b, 4b. In the adjacent protective blocks 2, 2, the portions 4, 4 to be connected are connected by the connector 5 inserted through the portions 4, 4 to be connected, so as to connect the protective blocks 2, 2 to each other.
