<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for discarding a glass plate capable of collecting a broken large-sized glass plate and discarding without performing the work by a worker. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A conveyed glass plate 1 is protruded from a conveyance part 11 at a conveyance direction A and a part of the glass plate 1 is warped downward by the own weight of the glass plate 1. Subsequently, a separation groove 15 is formed by a separation groove formation part 12 at a fulcrum part 1a of the warp of the glass plate 1 which is warped downward by the own weight. A crack 16 is formed from the separation groove 15 by the own weight of the glass plate 1, a part of the glass plate 1 is separated and collected, and then the glass plate 1 is discarded.
