PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for clarifying heavy metal-contaminated soil which is low in cost and is high in recovery ratio and selectivity. SOLUTION: A heavy metal elution agent contains metal bondable amino acid and/or peptide originating in organic waste. The method for clarifying heavy metal-contaminated soil comprises a process of bringing the heavy metal elution agent into contact with the heavy metal-contaminated soil (a contact process) and a process of separating the metal bondable amino acid and/or peptide carrying the heavy metals from the soil with which the heavy metal elution agent is brought into contact (a separation process).
