PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a closed type hot water boiler capable of preventing air lock of a hot water circulating pump and boiling without water in a heat source part etc., simplifying the structure of the device and facilitating execution of work. SOLUTION: In the hot water boiler 1 including a heater 3 erected within a vertical type can body 2, an air tank chamber 4 formed integrally with the can body 2 is provided in the upper part of the can body 2. An air vent means 2j is provided in the air tank chamber 4, and a water level sensor 2h is provided in the position at a height corresponding to a half of the tank capacity of the air tank chamber 4.
