AUTHENTICATION SYSTEM, METHOD AND PROGRAM

Provided is an authentication system which enables the amount of information held by each participant to be smaller than the amount proportional to the total number (n) of users. A setup device (100) for activating two or more commit data generation/verification devices (200) for generating commit data and verifying the presence or absence of falsification of data to be verified relating to the commit data is provided with an authentication information generation unit (102) for generating authentication data and authenticators used for the verification.  The authentication information generation unit (102) generates the authentication data and the authenticators on the basis of data obtained by assigning a constant to one variable in a bivariate polynomial.
