<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a tabular glass plate and a glass substrate in which a thinner tabular glass plate having smaller way can be produced without elongating the cycle time of the production, and further to provide a production apparatus and an information recording medium. SOLUTION: This method for obtaining the tabular glass-formed product by pressing a glass material to be formed, by using a forming mold comprising at least upper and lower molds comprises a step for feeding the glass material to be formed, having a temperature higher than the glass transition temperature on the forming surface of the lower mold, a step for forming the tabular glass by press-molding the fed glass material to be formed by the upper and lower molds, a step for releasing the upper mold from the resultant tabular glass and taking out the tabular glass on the forming surface of the lower mold from the forming surface of the lower mold, a step for cooling the obtained tabular glass to a temperature lower than the distortion point of the glass, and a step for annealing the obtained tabular glass. The method for producing the glass substrate comprises polishing the tabular glass obtained by the method. The information recording medium uses the glass substrate.</p> |
