An incubation system comprising a substantially sleeve 220 which is impermeable to liquids, the sleeve being radially expandable, outwardly biased, and compressible, an ETT tube 260 which longitudinally passes through the sleeve 220, a membrane 290 assembly permanently attached to the sleeve, the membrane 290 being impermeable to liquids and in liquid tight sealing contact with the ETT tube 260. In another aspect, an apparatus for facilitating ETT intubation comprising an ETT tube 260 being of relatively stiff tubing, the ETT tube 260 including one or more elastic sections 2165 which a longitudinally expandable. Preferably the tube includes a Murphy eye or tapered end. In another aspect, a method of assembling an ETT device prior to use by placing an ETT 260 transverse within a sleeve 220 that is radially expandable and outwardly biased, the ETT 260 is attached to the sleeve 220 by pulling element(s) 510, causing the sleeve 220 to be pull inwardly decreasing in radius, and sliding a loading tube 560 over the sleeve 220. |
