A window pane support strip <B>14</B> comprises an un-reinforced length of moulded, relatively hard, material <B>19</B> including a channel <B>21</B> for receiving the window pane and having an external surface which is covered with a relatively soft material <B>26</B> moulded over the relatively hard material. The strip <B>14</B> may have a second channel <B>22</B> opening in a direction opposite to the first channel <B>21</B> for receiving a second window pane. The second channel <B>22</B> may hold a separately formed seal <B>23</B>. The seal <B>23</B> may have flocked pane engageing surfaces. The harder material may have a Shore D hardness of 40 and may be polypropylene. The softer material may have a Shore A hardness of 60 and may be a thermoplastic elastomer. The strip may be used to mount a quarter light in a motor vehicle door. A method of moulding such a strip is also disclosed. |
