The abutment (2) has an insert (8) that is received in the opening of a dental implant. An anti-rotation segment (10) has an anti-rotation element (27a) that cooperates with the mating anti-rotation element of the dental implant. Grooves (18') extend from the apical end side of the anti-rotation segment in coronal longitudinal direction along a groove unit (14) with constant width. Each groove is continuously widened in a transition region (20) adjoining the groove unit in order to merge into a bevel (24') in a bevel region (22), which adjoins the transition region.
