PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device securing compactness of radial and axial directions, and having excellent mountability in relation to a vehicle, a wide degree of freedom in setting a speed reduction ratio and excellent durability in relation to high reaction from wheels. SOLUTION: This device is provided with an electric motor 13 and a reduction gear 14 for reducing speed of rotation of the electric motor 13, coaxially around a rack shaft 11. The reduction gear 14 is provided with an input shaft 18 to be driven by the electric motor 13, a rotating body 19 rotatably supported in an inclined part 21 formed in the input shaft 18, and an output shaft 20 linked with the rack shaft 11 by a feed screw mechanism. A second gear of the number n2 of teeth engaged with a first gear of the number n1 of teeth fixed to a housing 10 and a third gear of the number n3 of teeth engaged with a fourth gear of the number n4 of teeth formed in the output shaft 20 are formed at axial end parts of the rotating body 19. The reduction gear 14 is constituted as an oscillating type reduction gear for changing an engaging position between each gear, while the rotating body 19 performs an oscillating motion by rotation of the input shaft 18.
