In a straddling-type vehicle having a fuel tank (30) with a built-in fuel pump (42), the fuel pump (42) is placed in the fuel tank (30) with the pump axis directed in or nearly in the vehicle width direction, and wherein a length of the fuel pump (42) in the vehicle width direction is longer than a length thereof in the vehicle longitudinal direction.
