APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PURGING RESIDUAL WATER AND HYDROGEN DURING SHUTDOWN OF FUEL CELL

PURPOSE: A purging apparatus and a method for removing residues during a shutdown of a fuel cell are provided to reduce the necessary time for removing the residues and hydrogen from the fuel cell. CONSTITUTION: A purging apparatus for removing residues during a shutdown of a fuel cell comprises the following: a solenoid valve(20) installed on each outlet of an anode(15) and a cathode(16); and a controller(21) controlling the solenoid valve to repeat an opening and closing operating by a predetermined time. The purge pressure is applied to the inside of the fuel cell by the opening and closing operation of the solenoid valve.
