Class 110(3) A single-seat valve for regulating the supply of operating medium to nozzles or groups of nozzles in a high temperature steam or gas turbine comprises a diffuser located downstream of the valve seat 10, and screw threads 7 on the diffuser body 8 and on a nozzle box 4 serve to fix the nozzle box in the turbine casing or, as shown, in a housing 14 provided in the latter. When the members are screwed together by means of the threads 7, they are pressed against shoulders 15 in the housing 14. The spindle 12 of the valve disc 11 is actuated by the turbine speed governor through, it may be, a servomotor. Preferably, the inlet part 6 of the nozzle box 4 is surrounded by a space 16 containing a helical guide 17, through which expanded operating medium can flow from the casing 23, as shown by arrows 18, for cooling purpcses, leaving by way of a pipe 19 which may be connected to the turbine casing after a later stage. Protection against radiation may be provided by a screen 17a. An expansion neck 20 may be heated to the temperature of the diffusion body 8 by means of operating medium from the diffuser circulating through a space 21 by way of inlet and outlet openings 22. The nozzle 5 may be welded to the nozzle box 4. |
