The method of processing grass biomass according to the present invention employs a known principle of biomass saccharification (1) through enzymatic hydrolysis within a bioreactor (3), thus obtaining sugar raw material for manufacture of bioethanol or feeding stuffs, such as molasses. The method and apparatus are characterized by disintegration of biomass (1) within a disintegrating device (16), extraction of solid component (9) of the disintegrated biomass (1) in an atmospheric hydrothermal extractor (2), and subsequent leaching thereof with NaOH solution in a leaching reactor (18) prior hydrolysis in the bioreactor (3). The hydrolysis is preferably activated by a live enzyme cellulase with the addition of a buffer pH = 4,6 and Omelian solution wherein the enzymatic system is cultured from inoculum. Liquid component (10) of the disintegrated biomass (1), so called "green juice" is used for isolating physiologically valuable substances in biorefinery (11) and subsequently also as sugar raw material. Solid fraction (13) of the isolation and solid fraction (7) of the hydrolysis are used for the preparation of solid fuels. The invention also relates to a device for making the above-described processing method as well as to the use of grass biomass in this processing.
