A use of a roof lifting device for erecting a roof structure of a building, said roof lifting device comprising a lower frame (1) and an upper frame (2) being vertically adjustable relative to the lower frame by means of an actuator (3). According to the invention, the roof lifting device comprises two scissor structures, connecting the frames to each other. The actuator is attached to the frames at centrally located points of attachment, so that the actuator is arranged between the scissor structures. The invention also relates to method of erecting a building by means of one or several roof lifting devices.
